Along with the main restaurant, Olios Cafe & Grill also has a separate banquet facility which can be used for birthday parties, showers and a meeting space for business professionals. Olios Cafe & Grill can create a customized menu for special occasions.

Individuals interested in renting the banquet space need to call the restaurant for availability. There is no charge for reserving the banquet room. Olios Cafe & Grill also offers its customers an outdoor patio, which seats approximately 30.

The owner and chef of Olio’s Cafe and Grill hope to bring a little Italy to Elms Road.

Vito Cangemi, head chef, said the recipes come straight from Sicily, Italy.“It’s authentic,” said Cangemi, who grew up in Palermo, Italy. “There are different sauces for every type of dish.”
Cangemi has been cooking for 16 years and Olio’s is his second restaurant endeavor; he previously owned an Italian restaurant in Capac. “Cooking is my passion,” he said. “All the dishes are homemade and fresh. Every sauce is homemade, and it’s all authentic. All the recipes are straight from Sicily. Cooking runs in the family.”



Cangemi has a specialty on the menu that he created himself — Penne Alla Vito, made with chicken, shrimp, spinach, cherry tomatoes in penne pasta and a light sauce.

Manager Dunia Nemer said the dishes are made from family recipes. Cangemi learned a lot of his cooking skills from his aunt, who was also a chef. “Anything and everything is from scratch,” Nemer said. “We want to share Vito’s love and passion for the food... That’s the reason he does it.”

Olio’s also has a private banquet room that can fit 80 people and patio space to fit 25 to 30 people. There is no charge to reserve the banquet room for events or private parties.

“I like the area. It looked like it needed a nice Italian restaurant,” Cangemi said. “(Customers) should travel for good food.”

A favorite dish seems to be the lasagna, she said. It is five layers of pasta with three cheeses.
